Christmas Island (Blue Thumb) In typical time-machine fashion, the Jägermeister-sipping Leon Redbone throws his Xmas mojo on “Let It Snow,” “Blue Christmas,” and a stocking full of nontraditional songs. Backed by Thirties-style string band arrangements (including Cindy Cashdollar on dobro), there’s plenty of old-fashioned yuletide charm on this disc. This one won’t annoy your parents while keeping the Bing Crosby Christmas stuff at bay.
