All Hail West Texas

The original television soundtrack for NBC’s award-winning and locally shot Friday Night Lights, which spotlighted Austin artists like Li’l Cap’n Travis, Jon Dee Graham, and Billy Joe Shaver, was released Tuesday by Artists’ Addiction Records and features Spoon‘s “I Turn My Camera On,” Trail of Dead‘s “So Divided,” and Iron and Wine/Calexico‘s “Dead Man’s Will,” along with cuts from OutKast, the Killers, and José González. Explosions in the Sky, whose instrumental movements to and from West Texas encapsulated FNL‘s 2004 big-screen adaptation, contribute “First Breath After Coma,” while pop crooner Tony Lucca tries his hand at Daniel Johnston‘s “Devil Town.”
