After two years away, heavy metal and experimental specialists Oblivion Access return to Downtown Austin May 12-15.
Today, the four-day festival confirms its full lineup. Previously-announced performers like Blonde Redhead, Carcass, The Locust, Youth of Today, Xiu Xiu, Autopsy, Converge, William Basinski, Zola Jesus, and Lil Ugly Mane carry over from the previous announcements. Expanding its heavy reputation with more hip-hop, electronic, avant-garde, and punk than prior iterations, the third-year festival adds a number of new artists.
Iconic Detroit rapper/personality Danny Brown and Death Grips’ Andy Morin, who recently announced a self-run new label and single, expand the lineup. There’s also a rare Texas performance by landmark ambient artist Grouper, the world-building outlet of Liz Harris. The festival also adds the Microphones’ first local performance in over two decades, as well as Full of Hell, Ho99o9, Massacre, Cities Aviv, King Woman, and more.
Oblivion Access takes place across Austin venues Empire Control Room & Garage, Creek and Cave, Mohawk, Elysium, Hotel Vegas, Valhalla, Native Hostel, and Central Presbyterian Church.
