Denzel Curry

Thursday 5, Moody Amphitheater

Denzel Curry has dabbled in several rap subgenres in his career. A co-headlining tour with metalcore band Knocked Loose, however, seemed random at first glance. The Carol City rapper featured on the group’s February single “Hive Mind,” which eventually led to their nationwide jaunt. Curry brings his expected intensity on the track as he quickly rhymes over heavy instrumentation. He should fit just fine within this odd lineup that’s rounded out by bands Superheaven and Boundaries.

Francis of Delirium

Saturday 7, 29th Street Ballroom

Francis of Delirium’s second full-length, Run, Run Pure Beauty, captures an assortment of raw, contrasting emotions. Album closer “It’s a Beautiful Life” explodes with cathartic riffs as Luxembourg-based musician Jana Bahrich attempts to find beauty in an imperfect world: “I’m burned out and I’m tired, it’s a beautiful life.”

Local & Live

Saturday 7, Austin Visitor Center

R&B artists Grace Sorensen and Lew Apollo perform at the first edition of this quarterly music series. The show won’t strictly be Sorensen headlining after Apollo; Sonic Guild Executive Director Bobby Garza will conduct conversations with the performers.
