Every so often, an artist like Lynn makes a serious impression within the digital platform’s bottomless smorgasbord of freestyles and one-track performances. A clip of the Alabama-born, Austin-based rapper’s June freestyle currently counts over 250K likes on the OTR Instagram. She’ll perform with a band at Guero’s for BMI Plug & Play. San Marcos Block Party 

Saturday 5, Hays County Courthouse

The inaugural San Marcos Block Party takes place outside the Hays County Courthouse. Afternoon festivities include a 2:30pm watch party for Texas State’s season opener against UT. Musicians perform throughout the day, with Three 6 Mafia’s Juicy J hitting the stage at 6:20pm. Tape B finishes the party at 8:30pm.

Loe Shimmy

Croaky Florida rapper Loe Shimmy (“3am”) followed up a feature on Drake’s HABIBTI with a new album of his own: Pretty Girlz Run the World. The July release features R&B singers Brent Faiyaz (“Run the World”) and Summer Walker. Lakeyah opens.
