Sweet Limb’s solid 2026 run continues as the Chris Robinson-fronted alt-R&B project celebrates its city-proclaimed day. Each artist on the lineup lent a feature for the group’s May release, Axis: Fak3 5miles, Street Peach, and Wes Denzel support.
School Supply Drive

Co-founder of local hip-hop collective College of Hip-Hop Knowledge, Michael “Big Mic” Pereida, passed away earlier this month. This fundraiser, which was one of the last CHHK-presented events announced before Pereida’s passing, embodies his long-held ethos of building community. Entry is either $5, or complimentary with donation of school supplies equaling at least $5 in value. The bill includes rising Austin-based MC Soto the Activist, who will be backed by a band; Austin Hip-Hop Awards co-organizer George VonDoom, and alternative/indie band Deadleg.
Lefty Gunplay

A memorable outro on Kendrick Lamar’s Grammy-winning track “tv off” landed Lefty Gunplay on national radars: “Shit gets crazy, scary, spooky, hilarious.” The off-kilter-flowing West Coast native released three projects last year, with full-length Ghetto Heisman sporting a slew of features. Austin-based/fellow Mexican American rapper LiljayfromdaO and RNB.FOEMOB open.
