After several events in Nashville, BMI brings its free Plug & Play series to Austin. Tallula Junction, Magic Rockers of Texas, and Henry Invisible will each play four-song sets inside Güero’s.

Friday 3, Hole in the Wall

Folk/country singer-songwriter Carson McHone returns to her old stomping grounds while on tour for 2025 album Pentimento. In a deviation from the rest of the Ontario-based artist’s tour, solely local acts will support her: Magic Rockers of Texas, Little Mazarn, and Jenny Carson open.

Independent Rapper Day 

Sunday 5, Flamingo Cantina

Unwind after Independence Day with a night of explosive lyricism from a slew of independent, Austin-based rappers. The night begins with a 90-minute open mic at 7:30pm before segueing into performances from Ryan Dove, SpaceGoonz member Blayce the Rapper, Soto the Activist, and Flamingo Cantina constant CHHK. Soto the Activist released his debut full-length, War on Drugs, last month.

Nori With Strings

Sunday 5, Parker Jazz Club

Vocalist Akina Adderley and the rest of Nori will be backed by a string trio to celebrate the 10th anniversary of their debut album, World Anew.
