Friday 5, Mohawk

Upon releasing 2025 full-length Pressing Onward, Big Freedia demonstrated elements of bounce music and gospel music can be successfully mixed together into one surprising spiritual offering. “Never Forget” employs choral assistance over drums and organ to provide a statement on what God has meant to the New Orleans native: “Never forget what you’ve done for me… yes indeed!”

Fat Gator Weekend

Saturday 6 – Sunday 7, Various Locations

Co-founder of the Jump On It summertime series, rapper/promoter NOOK Turner, puts more focus this year on the Fat Gator Weekend as a standalone event. The Fat Gator Weekend aims to celebrate a fusion of Louisiana food and Texas culture through various activities. Day one takes place at Walter E. Long Park, with a schedule featuring live music, a car show, and a cook-off. Boosie Badazz (featured on NOOK Turner’s “Make Money”), Lil’ Keke, and Pokey Bear are notable performers. Day two centers around an all-white boat party on Lake Travis.
