KOOP Radio’s 31st Anniversary

Friday 30, Antone’s

KOOP Radio went live for the first time in December 1994. The community radio station on 91.7 FM continues to serve the Austin area with valuable, local-tailored programming as evidenced by its slew of nominations for this year’s Austin Music Awards: Best Radio Station, Best Radio Show (Both Kinds of Music and Stronger Than Dirt), and Best Radio Personality (Audrea Diaz of Hip Hop Hooray and Marc Fort of Ear Candy 2.0). A special edition of BodyRockATX and a set from Rosie Flores & the Talismen highlight a night celebrating KOOP’s 31-plus years on the airwaves.

Lady Wray

Thursday 5, Antone’s

Cover Girl, Nicole Wray’s enjoyable third album under her Lady Wray stage name, sees the Atlanta-based singer offer retro-tailored R&B fused with soul and pinches of gospel. The September 2025 release’s title track, set to powerful keys within a minimalist backdrop, casts a strong tale of rediscovering self-love. The succeeding track on the record, “You’re Gonna Win,” grooves on a funky bassline as a gospel-styled hook manifests a romance. Genre-fusing pianist JaRon Marshall opens.
