Widespread Panic

Earth to Atlanta (Sanctuary)

String Cheese Incident

Live From Austin TX (New West)

Upon the release of Earth to America, Widespread Panic simulcast a live performance at Atlanta’s Fox Theatre to movie theatres nationwide. This two-disc set of that show finds the Georgia juggernaut in grand form. Over the course of 26 songs, including sizzling versions of “Tall Boy,” “Travelin’ Man,” “Pigeons,” and “Second Skin,” Panic, confidently and without drowning in excess, proves why they’re one of America’s top bands. The 2001 Austin City Limits performance by String Cheese Incident matches up nicely, reveling in the Colorado-based band’s multitude of styles. From bluegrass to funk and extended jams, it’s all presented effortlessly and with mile-wide smiles. With SCI’s impending breakup in 2007, fans will cherish this adventurous souvenir. (Both) ***.5
