Known as both an exceptional studio rapper and actor, Tupac, it stands to reason, also thrived as live performer. Nope. It’s possible that the young, brash lyricist faltered in live settings as a mere victim of hip-hop circumstance. Too many otherwise proficient MCs tend to scream into their microphone when faced with a large, eager crowd. Too many hype-men can’t stop thinking that if their ace needs to scream, they all better scream into their 18 microphones as well. So don’t blame Tupac for the indifference that this cacophonous two-disc concert package is bound to elicit. **
