Austin’s leading A-list outdoor festival returns, October 6-8 and 13-15.

Announced this morning, Kendrick Lamar, Foo Fighters, Alanis Morissette, Mumford & Sons, the Lumineers, and ODESZA will headline ACL Fest 2023. Other headliners include Shania Twain, who will play Weekend One only, and the 1975, who will play Weekend Two only. The lineup further adds prominent artists Hozier, Kali Uchis, Yeah Yeah Yeahs, Maggie Rogers, Cigarettes After Sex, Niall Horan, Lil Yachty, Portugal. The Man, Death Grips, Rina Sawayama, the Breeders, Yves Tumor, and Texas’ Tanya Tucker on both weekends.

Three-day passes will be on sale today at noon at aclfestival.com.

For the first time, the festival has included fees and shipping costs in the total three-day cost of $335. In December, ticket presale for the 2023 event started at $285, an increase from $275 presale for 2022. The announcement says one-day tickets “will be available at a later date.” Last year, one-day tickets were offered alongside the daily lineup details on July 15.

A number of one time visitors differentiate the two weekends. Weekend One exclusively hosts the Mars Volta, Chromeo, the Walkmen, and more. The following Weekend Two, M83, Ethel Cain, and Sudan Archives may win over a few fans.

The press release points out that “2023’s roster features 45% female performers, LGBTQ+ artists, allies and icons, multiple Latin stars including Ivan Cornejo, Kevin Kaarl, Eddie Zuko, and much more.”

Oganizers C3 Presents annually invite a number of Austin-based musicians to round out the lineup of over 100 acts. This year, locals Ben Kweller, Jimmie Vaughan, Asleep at the Wheel, Penny & Sparrow, Katy Kirby, Calder Allen, Kathryn Legendre, Arya, Grace Sorensen, Blakchyl, We Don’t Ride Llamas, Jane Leo, Ellis Bullard, Rattlesnake Milk, Shooks, QUIN NFN, Caramelo Haze, Die Spitz, Nemegata, Huston-Tillotson Jazz Collective, the Moriah Sisters, and the Disciples of Joy will all appear at the fest.

New for 2023, the festival highlights that bars throughout Zilker Park will feature cocktails and mixed drinks, in addition to the usual beer, wine, and seltzers. The announcement confirms the return of the Austin Kiddie Limits stage and the small Bonus Tracks stage, which previously featured guest speakers, drag shows, and DJs. ACL Fest will continue to allow free entry for children 8 and under, with a limit of two children per ticket-holding adult.
