While we’re on the subject of special events and admissions, I should mention that tickets for the 2001-02 Austin Music Awards go on sale Monday, Feb. 25, at Star Tickets (469-SHOW). Tickets will be $20 advance and $25 at the door, and this year’s lineup oughta be a humdinger.

Onstage at the Austin Music Hall Wednesday, Mar. 13 — 7:55pm sharp — are: the Snobs; “Supergirls, featuring Lord Douglas Phillips, Patrice Pike, Dottie Farrell, Nancy Scott, and Kris Patterson; Spoon; Sixpence None the Richer; a Champ Hood Tribute with Warren Hood & the South Austin Jug Band and Toni Price, plus at least one very special guest; and crowning the evening, a salute to Ray Benson with Asleep at the Wheel and probably a few very special guests. In that last category, include guest presenters Darrell Royal, rock critic emeritus Dave Marsh, and Mega93’s Miss Kitty!
