As Austin alternative R&B songstress Mélat Kassa continues readying her upcoming release, Move Me 2, the Ethiopian-American singer delivers visuals for atmospheric love chaser “No Bad News,” produced by The Seventh.

The album-ending track is the last single off her strong 2016 full-length MéVen. Directed by Isaac Rodriguez and Cynthia Bergen of No Sleep Films, the slick, dream-like video represents existential escape from life and career pressures.

“In the video, I’m surrounded by pressure and influence from the masked figures, but I find pockets of freedom away from those pressures throughout the video in an attempt to not be completely consumed,” explains the singer.

The locally-born Kassa performs during this week’s #bossbabesATX-produced Babes Fest 17, Thursday 27 – Saturday 29. The soundtrack portion of the comedy, film, and music festival happens on two stages Saturday at Empire Control Room, where the singer performs at 9:15pm indoors. She’s also locked down slots for ACL Fest and Sound on Sound.

Move Me 2 is slated for a fall release.
