Auditorium Shores, Nov. 4While Glenn Danzig played punk-rock prima donna, Passion Pit gamely took the stage ready to bop off accumulated beer calories courtesy of the Boston electro-poppers. “Little Secrets,” from the quintet’s 2009 debut LP, Manners, kicked off muddy, but it recovered quickly enough. Clad in a button-down shirt and gray cardigan, frontman Michael Angelakos bounced from one end of the stage to the other, extending the bright-white mic stand to the audience to sing along. He strained on the high notes of “Make Light” and smash hit “The Reeling” but excused himself with, “We haven’t played together in like a year; I hope everything’s working out.” To that end, new song “American Blood” featured a menacing tom flanked by shimmery synth. Most of Passion Pit’s set included tracks from Manners with bits from 2008’s Chunk of Change; the set wrapped with the high-energy “Folds in Your Hands” and “Sleepyhead.” Ain’t no sleep here – just wondering when the next album comes out.
