Who: Foreigner, Bryan Adams

When: Feb. 17, 1982

Where: Frank Erwin Center

Why? It was the first concert my parents would let me go to! I was 14, I think. It blew my mind and my ears. Sound systems were not as advanced as they are today. I think Triumph was my second show, and one of the more memorable shows was Guns N’ Roses opening for the Cult. I went with Will Sexton in high school. We threw down at that one at Palmer.

What made the Foreigner 4 tour your jam? I was more BTO, Pink Floyd, Rolling Stones, Bob Marley, and ELO. Foreigner was about 10th on the list. Again, though, it was just the first one I was allowed to see.

How was it? I don’t remember the actual concert other than it was super exciting when the lights went down and a lot of pot smell filled the air. I knew it was illegal and couldn’t believe people lit up in the venue. I didn’t know who Bryan Adams was.
