As touched on in the lead “Recommended” for Music Listings coming to this Thursday’s issue, the death of Esme Barrera reminded me of another local music scene mainstay, “Handsome” Joel Svatek, who was killed by a drunk driver in 2003. Like him, Barrera will soon have her own sticker. His can still be spotted in clubs all around town.
