Who wouldn’t want to be Norah Jones’ friend? It seems everyone wants a chance, as the pianist duets with guest stars as renowned as Dolly Parton and as obscure as David Rawlings. Chronicling an August show at the Ryman Auditorium in Nashville, Live in 2004 is equal parts jazz, country, folk, and pop. Jones enlists Gillian Welch for Townes Van Zandt’s “Loretta” and Richard Julian for John Prine’s “That’s the Way That the World Goes ‘Round.” The host, meanwhile, does fine solo, as on a reworking of Duke Ellington’s “Melancholia,” called “Don’t Miss You at All.”
