Vanessa Williams dedicates too much time to shilling products on TV; one forgets she has a fantastic voice. This comes to great use on Silver & Gold, a collection that plays it safe, but will likely get played often. Seasonal standards (“Joy to the World,” “Silent Night”) carouse with newer tunes (“December Lullaby”), and aside from some assistance from Brian McKnight and Ossie Davis, Silver & Gold shines with pure Vanessa Williams.
