Jefferson Airplane

The Worst of Jefferson Airplane (RCA Legacy)

When “Somebody to Love” exploded out of car radios spring 1967, it heralded the onset of the Summer of Love. After that, Jefferson Airplane came to define the folk-rock-cum-psychedelic San Francisco sound for the rest of the planet. First appearing in 1970, Worst Of, now with two bonus tracks, compiles the Airplane’s mind-blowing “hits” culled from their six albums recorded between 1965-69. It’s also a right-on introduction to a Bay area scene that provided a key ingredient to the soundtrack of Sixties counterculture.
