For people too smart to fill their veins with China White but wanting to hear visions of the perfect late-Eighties psychedelic/punk/metal synthesis, 16-song refresher Catacombs breaks it down. Remember, Jane’s was competing with the likes of W.A.S.P. and Poison for gigs, making the sledgehammer originality of “Ocean Size,” “Whores,” and “Three Days” that much more impressive. Entourage theme “Superhero” tastes that sweet HBO money, but it’s nothing compared to the bonfire of sex, violence, funk, and chaos Jane’s – especially preTV-douche-bag guitarist Dave Navarro – could ignite when coming down the mountain.
