Hot Sauce Festival

Volunteer Tips & Guidelines

Thank you for your interest in volunteering with the Austin Chronicle Hot Sauce Festival. We are no longer accepting volunteers for 2019. Please come out, enjoy the festival, get your sweat on, and help support the Central Texas Food Bank. We would love to have you volunteer with us in 2020, so please return to this site in July 2020 for volunteer opportunities.

Transportation & Parking

We recommend walking, biking, or public transportation.
Lyft or Uber or Ride Austin
Austin B-cycle: austinbcycle.com
If you choose to drive we highly recommend carpooling! Parking around Fiesta Gardens is limited but free on Sunday. There will also be plenty of bike parking on-site.
Dockless Scooters: If you take a dockless scooter to the park, there is a dockless scooter corral located next to the park entrance.

Volunteer Check-In

The volunteer check-in tent will be set up at the main entrance near the corner of Chicon and Jesse E. Segovia Street. Look for the bike racks. Please arrive 10 minutes prior to your shift to check in and get oriented with the venue.
Note: Be aware that the Capital Area Food Bank has its own group of volunteers who collect donations at the gates and sell raffle tickets. They are a completely separate group of volunteers; they are managed by someone else, they check in at a different location. To avoid confusion, you are a Chronicle volunteer.

What to Wear

Comfortable, appropriate clothes that you don’t mind getting sweaty and/or dirty. You will receive your festival t-shirt at check-in. We ask that you wear it during your shift, to be easily identifiable! Closed toe shoes are recommended.
