There is always a wealth of weekend attractions around Austin in the spring: soccer games in Zilker Park; marathons, dog walks, and fun runs on city streets; roadshow attractions or local musicians playing in every venue; various theatrical and dance productions; festivals; holiday observances. When faced with this embarrassment of entertainment riches, our plans are often based on which and how many of these other events can be planned around a nice, leisurely brunch. Ah, brunch, that lovely weekend repast where breakfast meets lunch with a mimosa in one hand and a Bloody Mary in the other, where Eggs Benedict and Crème Brûlée French Toast can share the same buffet line with a steamship round of beef and a mountain of cold boiled shrimp. If you think you’ve had a difficult time deciding which concert, kite contest, or antique show to attend, the following roundup of brunch offerings at some of Austin’s finest restaurants is sure to complicate your decision-making process even further. Not to worry. There’s enough good food here to keep you in brunch reservations for months!
