This has been a banner year for publications with an Austin flavor or connection. Two of the most renowned restaurants in town, Fonda San Miguel (“Interior Designers,” Nov. 11) and Hudson’s on the Bend, have come out with signature cookbooks. Not to be outdone, the folks at the historic Driskill Hotel just released a glamorous volume of their own, celebrating the dowager empress of Austin hospitality in all her glory. To complete the list, there’s everything from informative scholarly food writing to a useful guidebook and cookbooks with recipes from soup to nuts. This year, we’ve got a tasty Austin book for every food lover on your list.
