The Townsend marks a milestone, the Wine & Food Foundation of Texas has some class, and more in today’s Austin food news.

Tomorrow is the blade lighting at the Paramount Theatre, so neighboring bar The Townsend naturally made a cocktail. All this week (except Wednesday when the bar is hosting a private party), enjoy the Blade Reviver #2 – Tito’s, Combier pamplemousse liqueur, lime juice, Salers Gentiane aperitif liqueur, and Underberg – in honor of the theatre’s 100th birthday. No word on what happened to the Blade Reviver #1, but it probably didn’t have enough pamplemousse.

The Wine & Food Foundation of Texas announced their latest “Perfect Pair” wine pairing class to be held at Trace on Tuesday, Sept. 29, 5:30-7pm. A special guest sommelier (who probably isn’t aggro Nineties workout guru Susan Powter, but you never know) will walk you through two small bites and two wines for $40.
All five Austin La Madeleines will be giving away free butter croissants tomorrow to celebrate the first day of autumn. All you have to do is say “Bonjour Fall” to the cashier, but it would be really funny if you wore a beret and carried a baguette.
