Shipwreck Soup

Foo Swasdee, Satay the Asian Cookery (3202 Anderson Lane, 467-6731)

Satay chef/owner Foo Swasdee says her regular customers call this delicious hot pot “Get Well Soup” because of the healthy hot and sour mixture of herbs and seafood. The aromatic broth is flavored with lemongrass, garlic, galangal, Kafir lime leaves, fresh and dried Thai chiles, shallots, and tomatoes, and is chock-full of mussels, shrimp, squid, scallops, and crab. The hot pot’s flame keeps the Satay variation of the classic Thai Tom Yum hot to the very last spoonful.
