Legends Cafe

900 S. RR 620 Ste. C-108, 263-4111

Monday-Saturday, 8am-9pm; Sunday, 11am-5pm

It was good. It was big. It was warm. And with a coke, it cost only $7. The trend of wrap sandwiches lives on in Lakeway! It would be easy to miss this little cafe buried in a two-level strip mall on RR 620, but Legends Cafe is worth finding. Their setup is small and simple, with just a few tables and stools where you can chat with friends or watch one of the two televisions tuned in to local and national news. There was a good number of diners in the early afternoon, several of whom seemed to be local regulars: a good sign. The menu offers a choice of wheat, tomato basil, or jalapeño cheese tortillas or hoagie rolls. I chose the club on wheat with ham, turkey, mozzarella, lettuce, and tomato ($5.19). There was a short wait, but the huge, warm wrap sandwich was well worth it. The ingredients were fresh and well-combined, and the second half made an excellent dinner later in the day. The gourmet pizzas ($5.99) here don’t have especially innovative toppings, but old favorites are always tasty when well made. Those who like their dressing on the side should make that clear, because nearly all of the sandwiches come slathered in Italian or ranch. The breakfast menu offers various breakfast wraps ($2.99), stuffed croissants ($2.19), and, of course, breakfast tacos (99 cents), all served early enough to drop in before work.
