Castle Hill Cafe

1101 W. Fifth, 476-0726

Mon-Fri, 11am-2:30pm; Mon-Sat, 6-10pm

A perennial choice as Austin’s favorite restaurant in the annual Chronicle Restaurant poll, Castle Hill fuses exquisite tastes from the American Southwest, southern Europe, and Asia. The menu changes frequently and they offer an extensive list of affordable wines to match just about any of its daring creations. Though the restaurant’s large, single dining room can get noisy, the two-tone interior and whimsical Oaxacan folk art create an enjoyable atmosphere in which to appreciate chef David Dailey’s decidedly bold fare.
