It’ll be much less rowdy and more safely distanced than at some lakefront cover-band gig, we reckon, as chef Fiore Tedesco of L’oca d’Oro tends the fire on Mueller’s Simond Avenue to make this Saturday afternoon a memorable meat-forward feast for the senses.
That’s Saturday, May 23, noon-3pm, to be specific.
“You can stop by and picnic in the park or on your porch,” notes the affable maestro.
“But Chef Tedesco,” we whine, “not everybody likes burgers. Do we really have to have one of those tender, juicy, perfectly grilled burgers if we stop by on Saturday afternoon?”
Another chef, pretty much near the end of his pandemic rope, might stab us with his grilling fork. Not this guy. “We’ll have muffulettas, too,” he says, grinning. “With our housemade salumi.”
Okay. Now we’re figuring, yeah, maybe get one of each. Per person. At least. And we’ll be ready to do as the eatery’s slogan commands: “Obey the Directives. Eat Good Food.”
And that’ll be excellent use of a Saturday in the park.
(Hell, you might think it was the fourth of July.)
