One night, my mom and I were driving home from fun on the the Drag and we saw a sign for Conan’s. It said 25� per game, so we decided to check it out. We drove up and went inside. I was amazed at how cool the games are for a regular restaurant. Conan’s has Time Crisis 2, this cool futuristic racing game in space, and many others. The best thing about it is that all the games cost only one token — 25�! But on the Metal Slug game two of the buttons don’t work at all.
Now for the pizza. The prices at Conan’s are very low; you can get a large pizza for only $5.99. The sauce has no vegetables in it and the cheese slips off very easily, two things which I prefer. Even my friend Romina from Italy says it’s pretty good. She likes to play Maximum Force with my mom because they found the bonus levels. And Conan’s is the only place that I know of that has root beer without caffeine (not Barq’s, which has caffeine) and is open late at night.
Ohh … I almost forgot! Conan’s has three sections where you can sit. There are tables in the arcade, which is one room, another room is by the big window, and there is one area by the counter where you get your pizza. On different occasions, we have seen bands there, we watched Robbie Knievel almost jump the Grand Canyon (but get snowed out) on TV, and have run into some of our friends. We go to Conan’s a lot because it’s close to our house and is open pretty late on the weekends. I like it because the arcade is small and not like those big major corporation ones that charge six or eight tokens for one game! Also, the people and the customers are pretty nice, and they won’t steal your money or shove you to a different game when they want to play the game you’re on. –Michael C. Kostek III
