Juliet Ristorante is temporarily closing its doors on June 5 to redesign and rebrand the restaurant. Rechristening themselves as Juliet Italian Kitchen, the restaurant is working alongside Design Hound (itself a rebrand of Kevin Stewart | Architect – the firm behind Dai Due, Emmer & Rye, and L’oca d’oro among others) on a new look.
A new menu from executive chef Jacob Weaver is also in the works, focusing on classic red-sauce Italian-American fare. Although the menu is changing, handmade pastas, breads, cheeses, and desserts will continue to be a focus. The Barton Springs Rd. restaurant’s reboot is expected to drop in late June.
Meanwhile, the former Tres Amigos location at 1807 Slaughter has reopened under new owners Mike Reynolds and Bruce Evans. Named after their co-owners and wives (DK Reynolds and Mary Evans), DK Maria’s Legendary Tex-Mex serves a combination of familiar Tex-Mex specialties as well as a few dishes off the beaten path. And, of course, margaritas.
