Austin-born and bred Aaron Lyons came up with the idea for Dish Society when he was an MBA student at UT’s McCombs School of Business. The concept, launched in Houston in 2014, was an all-day cafe with locally sourced ingredients from area farms.

With five locations in the greater Houston area, Lyons is finally bringing Dish Society to Austin, opening in Mueller in Fall 2023.

Hungry Muellerites and their neighbors can enjoy a seasonal menu with items like shrimp and grits, Nutella French toast, brisket-stuffed sweet potatoes, grain bowls, and a customizable farmer’s plate. They can also expect custom cocktails and mocktails, fresh-pressed juices, coffee, and Texas wines and beers.

Dish Society will join a new crop of restaurants popping up in Mueller this year, including national salad bowl chain sweetgreen, which opened in March; Veracruz Fonda & Bar, which opens Saturday, April 8; and Aviator Pizza and Drafthouse and Nautical Bowls, both due this summer.

Dish Society will be located at 1900 Aldrich Blvd., #130.
