Author and activist Wenonah Hauter, executive director of Food & Water Watch, will be in Austin next week discussing her new book Foodopoly: The Battle Over the Future of Food and Farming in America.

The book, praised by the ranks of Bill McKibben and Vandana Shiva, examines the increased corporate control of America’s food supply and agricultural policy, specifically the “foodopoly” created as a result of large corporate food mergers. According to Hauter, “the relentless drive for profit by agribusiness has had long-lasting and negative effects on all aspects of society.”

The presentation will be followed by a Q&A.
