Popular campus-area potato delivery outfit Private Idaho has relocated its operation to 2200 Guadalupe and merged with The Bagel Manufactory, providing a much-needed retail outlet for Private Idaho and preserving Bagel Manufactory’s retail and wholesale operations. While they’re stuffing spuds, partners Dan Brickley and Dan Herwitt are pleased to be keeping what many consider to be Austin’s best bagels on the market. For bagels or potatoes, call 473-2878… Manuel’s owners Ahmad Modoni and Greg and Jennifer Koury have entered into a partnership with Wrapido owner Darrell Kunik. The deal calls for a remodel of the Drag location of Wrapido into Chango’s Taqueria (3023 Guadalupe, 476-9727), which will open just in time for SXSW. Modoni and the Kourys are also negotiating to expand Manuel’s soon… The B-Side, the adjoining club room to The Bitter End (311 Colorado, 478-23370), has undergone some tweaking. It’s eschewed live music in favor of dim lights and comfy couches, creating an inviting venue for spirited socializing.

And for any small restaurant looking for its own garden, here’s a great tip. The garden plot at Paisley Robertson‘s Southwind property (2411 Kinney, 447-7811) is no longer being cultivated by L & C Farms and is available. Check with Robertson soon to get that spring garden planted!
