After writing, editing, proofing, and designing this year’s First Plates issue, everyone at the Chronicle needs a drink. Luckily Pam Pritchard at the Tigress has us covered.

To celebrate the issue and Austin’s vibrant culinary scene, Pritchard has mixed up a limited edition cocktail with enough mystery and allure to be a film noir femme fatale. Think of the Midnight Press as a long, tall drink of water – just, you know, without all that pesky water.

Have one tonight at our First Plates Happy Hour at the Tigress between 5-7pm. And then try it out at home. With sophisticated herbal notes and a velvety foundation, we promise it will give you the warm fuzzies.

1 oz. Waterloo gin
1 oz. Braulio amaro
¾ oz. St. George NOLA coffee liqueur
½ oz. Tempus Fugit crème de cacao
Served on the rocks, lemon twist, raspberry
