Terry Thompson-Anderson, author of The Texas Hill Country: A Wine and Food Paradise and Texas on the Plate, will be selling and signing books this weekend at Alamosa Cellars (325/628-3313, www.alamosawinecellars.com) near Bend, about 90 miles north of Austin. Sample some of the artisan foods featured in Terry’s book along with tastings of Alamosa wines. Saturday, Nov. 22, noon-5pm.

The Belmont (305 W. Sixth, 457-0300, www.thebelmontaustin.com) joins the Austin supporters of the annual Coats for Kids drive by hosting the first Belmont Butter Ball. The holiday buffet benefit comes complete with musical entertainment by Dale Watson & His Lone Stars. Admission is $10 or the donation of one coat. Buffet tickets are $15. Tuesday, Nov. 25, 6-11pm.
