Representatives of Highland Park Single Malt Scotch Whisky will be in town to pour samples of their Highland 12 and Highland 18, in addition to sharing samples of two unique cask strengths bottled specifically for the city of Austin and the state of Texas. Girl Scouts of Central Texas is one of 16 councils across the country participating in a pilot program that allows customers to locate cookie-sales booths with the use of an online cookie locator when sales commence this weekend. Cookies are $3.50 per box at a booth or from any Girl Scout member from Jan. 19 through Feb. 22.
The Wine & Food Foundation of Texas (327-7555, www.winefoodfoundation.org) is partnering with the Washington Wine Commission to present a grand tasting of the wines from more than 60 Washington wineries. There will also be appetizers and desserts at this exciting event to be held at One World Theatre (7701 Bee Caves Rd., 330-9500).
