• Girl Scouts of Central Texas is one of 16 councils across the country participating in a pilot program that allows customers to locate cookie-sales booths with the use of an online cookie locator when sales commence this weekend. To locate a cookie booth in your area, go to the council’s website, www.gsctx.org; follow the link; and enter your ZIP code. Cookies are $3.50 per box at a booth or from any Girl Scout member from Jan. 19 through Feb. 22.
• The Wine & Food Foundation of Texas (327-7555, www.winefoodfoundation.org) is partnering with the Washington Wine Commission to present a grand tasting of the wines from more than 60 Washington wineries. There will also be appetizers and desserts at this exciting event to be held at One World Theatre (7701 Bee Caves Rd., 330-9500). Tickets are $50 for foundation members and $60 for the general public. This event is sure to sell out, so make reservations now. Tuesday, Jan. 22, 6-9pm.
