Food Network producers have told Austin’s own Flip Happy Crepes (400 Jessie, 552-9034) owners Nessa Higgins and Andrea Dayboykin their episode of Throwdown With Bobby Flay will air this weekend. The segment was filmed this spring and also features Aquarelle chef/co-owner Terry Wilson as a crepe judge. Sunday, Aug. 5, 9pm.

The Dodging Duck Brewhaus (830/248-3825, www.dodgingduck.com) in Boerne celebrates its fifth anniversary in August with a month of fun and charity fundraising. If you are out in the Hill Country this month, be sure to drop by for craft-brewed beer, good food, and Texas wines, and pick up a purple “5th Anniversary” T-shirt while you’re there to benefit their favorite charities. Austin sommelier and Twin Liquors manager Chris Black, founder of the Grape Geeks Professional Wine Services, will lead an interactive wine class titled the Texas Two-Sip at the Salt Lick 360 (3801 Capital of TX Hwy. N., 328-4957). The class will focus on wine-making in Texas and will feature Texas wines paired with appetizers prepared by the restaurant. The event is sponsored by the Wine & Food Foundation of Texas and the Texas Department of Agriculture. Tickets are $35 for foundation members, $45 for nonmembers.
