Is the Eastside the best side? The Eat East summer series makes a strong argument. Every Tuesday night, from July 14 to Labor Day, nine restaurants on East Sixth and Seventh streets will be offering a cocktail-and-appetizer special in the $8-10 range.
Created by the Hightower’s co-owners Chad Dolezal and Victor Farnsworth, this series aims to promote the Eastside food scene. Participating restaurants include the Hightower (1209 E. Seventh), la V (1501 E. Seventh), Silo on 7th (1300 E. Seventh), Salt & Time Butcher Shop & Salumeria (1912 E. Seventh), Gardner (1914 E. Sixth), Tamale House East (1707 E. Sixth), Spartan Pizza (1007 E. Sixth), Gelateria Gemelli (1009 E. Sixth), and Bueno Aires Cafe (1201 E. Sixth).
The specials include:
The Hightower:
The High Tail (Bulleit rye, honey syrup, house-made allspice dram, lemon) and brussels sprouts
Tamale House East:
Two margaritas and a small queso
Gardner:
Kalimotxo, a Basque combination of red wine and soda, and fried sweet potatoes with Urfa mayo
Gelateria Gemelli:
An amaro and a small gelato (two flavors)

Premium beer (draught or bottle/can) and their signature jalapeño dip
Silo on 7th:
