When Ben Edgerton and Andrew Wiseheart opened Contigo three years ago, they couldn’t have envisioned how successful the casual, ranch-inspired eatery would be from opening day. Now, they’re finally taking time to expand the high volume kitchen, and throwing a party in the beer garden while they’re at it.

Once the restaurant closes after brunch this Sunday, they’ll close down the kitchen so contractors can open things up a bit and tear down the wall between the kitchen and front of the house. They expect the work to be finished and to have the kitchen reopened in time for dinner service on Tuesday, Sept. 23.

However, the guys don’t intend to let their loyal clientele go hungry for even one night, so they’re throwing a cookout party in the beer garden. Chef Wiseheart will provide a selection of savory bites from five outdoor cooking stations and they’ve invited musicians Daniel Thomas Phipps (5:30pm), Aisha Burns (6:45pm), and Jaimee Harris (8pm), to entertain over the course of the evening. The full cocktail menu will be available for purchase and four local craft breweries will be on hand, each featuring samples of signature brews.

Hops & Grain: Zoe, Alteration
Austin Beerworks: Pearl Snap, Heavy Machinery Wet Hop IPA
Live Oak Brewing Company: Hefeweizen, Oaktoberfest
Thirsty Planet : Thirsty Goat Amber Ale

The Craft Beer Cookout is on Monday, Sept. 22 from 5:30-9pm. The $35 ticket price includes food, beer samples, and music. Tickets available here.
