• Bars at Roaring Fork (701 Congress, 583-0000; 10850 Stonelake, 342-2700) and Eddie V’s (301 E. Fifth, 472-1860; 9400-B Arboretum Blvd., 342-2642) restaurants tip their hats to our Mexican neighbors with a menu of cocktail specials to be served Sunday-Saturday, May 3-9.

• La Condesa (400-A W. Second, 499-0300) and Lamberts Downtown Barbecue (401 W. Second, 494-1500) celebrate Cinco de Mayo Mexico City-style with a block party between Guadalupe and San Antonio streets, offering barbecue, Mexican street fare such as roasted corn, tacos, raspas, Mexican beers, and margaritas, plus live music and a moonwalk. Some area shops will participate in the festivities, as well. Free. Tuesday, May 5, 5-10pm.

• Fish City Grill (4616 Triangle Blvd.) will donate 15% of its entire day’s sales proceeds to benefit the nonprofit therapy-dog organization Divine Canines (www.divinecanines.org). Tuesday, May 5, all day.
