Inside Dobie Mall, chef-owner Jon Gaboric has opened one of the more creative venues around the 40 Acres. WeFuse features fresh, healthy French-Asian fusion dishes served in bento boxes. A separation from a business partner caused the name change from the original FuseBox, but Gaboric continues to thrive independently and will open a second location in the Frost Bank building in mid-June.

We like the food and the artistic presentation: seared tuna with cucumber salad, gingered carrots, rice, and veggie dumplings for $9. Roasted salmon, roasted chicken breast, roasted tofu, or shrimp come with sides such as roasted yellow pepper and leek salad with avocado, gingered potato salad, and roasted asparagus for $8. Six creative salad options range from $6.50 to $7.50; we love the pear, walnut, and blue cheese tossed with greens and a white balsamic dressing. Also check out the chilled soba noodle bowl or the hot udon bowls for $5.50. WeFuse is fresh, healthy, and cutting edge, and Dobie has its own parking garage.
