Remember those halcyon days when you could pick up a box of Krunch bars and be comforted by the smiling, mustachioed face of a construction worker (who never catcalled anyone because he’s a stand-up guy)? Those were simple times when your Blue Bell packaging fanfic more closely resembled The Bridges of Madison County than Outbreak.
Fear not, young scribe. Happy days are here again.
From their ice fortress in Brenham, Blue Bell Creameries announced today that Blue Bell will be returning to some markets on August 31 – including Austin. The return is part of a phased plan that will eventually cover 15 states. In addition to Austin, Brenham, Houston, and parts of Alabama near the Sylacauga plant (Montgomery and Birmingham) will get the first batch. Since only one facility will be producing, there will be limited production. Earlier phases will cover large areas of Texas as well as Oklahoma, later expanding to other nearby states.
In a press release, VP of sales and marketing Ricky Dickson said, “Over the past several months we have been working to make our facilities even better, and to ensure that everything we produce is safe, wholesome, and of the highest quality for you to enjoy. This is an exciting time for us as we are back to doing what we love … making ice cream!”
What lurks in those tantalizing ellipses, we may never know.
