Maybe you’ve heard of other lager festivals popping up as these thirst-slaying, bottom-fermented brews get trendier across the bro-verse, but ABG’s Lager Jam is Classic Coke compared to all those New Coke posers.
Lager Jam, now in its sixth year, is Austin’s O.G. formula when it comes to combining the essential ingredients required to make a proper lager jam. That includes, but is not limited to, an “anti-sampling, full-pour” philosophy of those crispy heat anecdotes from over 20 of Texas’ lager makers. There will be 30 lagers in all, including draft collaborations, limited distribution offerings, out-of-town guest breweries, canned staples, and super relevant seasonals (probably not barleywines).
Lager Jam returns Saturday, July 27 (11am-5pm) at the inside bar of The Yard’s Spokesman. The event is free, Free, FREE, and, as per Lager Jam tradition, beers will be available a la carte. However, the $30 pre-sale party packs offers boozers with a real head on their shoulders the opportunity to pre-plan their entire afternoon with three full lager pours, one Spokesman Cold Brew (or Blue Gatorade), a newly designed limited-edition Lager Jam glass, a Slow Pour Pils pin from Small Batch Pins, a Lager Jam Collectible Koozie, and something called a Mystery ticket (hopefully for more blue Gatorade, but we’ll just have to wait and see)!
Below is the draft and canned list straight from the source (subject to change) of all those precious little lagers tasked to squabble with your internal core temps (peep that Petite Hans!). More information can be found at www.austinbeerguide.com.
