Big Top Candy Shop

1706 S. Congress, 462-2220
Daily, 11am-9pm

It’s hard to explain how I could have forgotten about the holiday. I have a daughter who, despite her post-trick-or-treat age of 15, remains devoted to the occasion. I live in a neighborhood festooned liberally with pumpkins, skeletons, and ghosts. Yet, there I was last year, arriving home at 5:30pm, confronted with the sudden realization that Halloween was upon us, and I was bereft of candy for the impending visitors expecting – nay, demanding – treats.

Fortunately for me, I didn’t have to make a run to a convenience store for expired and pedestrian candy. I trotted up the street to Big Top Candy Shop, where a veritable wonderland of sugary goodies is in copious supply. Not only would I not be at the mercy of revenge-seeking goblins, but their bags would be laden with awe-inspiring treats like candy necklaces! And atomic fireballs! And Clark bars! And, as they say on the Home Shopping Network, much, much more!

I don’t know who enjoyed the candy carnival more, the trick-or-treaters or me. What I do know is that the presence of Big Top Candy Shop on South Congress promises that candy crises, on Halloween or any other day, are a thing of the past.
