Its day one of SXSW. Youd think that a coffee house located near the conference site would be open bright and early Saturday morning, but you would be wrong. That will teach me to over sleep. I resorted to the much too crowded competitor down the street, a vendor I ordinarily avoid but I was caffeine deprived. Those poor baristas were getting slammed, but managed to brew, froth, steam, and pour with a merry smile that verged on crazed (not really. I just don’t understand morning merriness without caffeine). The only saving grace of that very long wait was listening to the string of designer orders. Can you believe someone ordered his drink extra hot?
It might be my imagination but there seem to be a lot of little ones being pushed about it strollers this year. Its cute, though some of their rides are better built that any car Ive ever owned. Speaking of which
People who complain about traffic, parking, etc. Take the bus. Its easy and you might meet someone interesting. I met a lovely British couple, not actually here for SXSW, but hey, they thought I was charming. Its been a long time since anyone thought I was charming.
In my caffeine-deprived state I think I saw Chandler Bing run by me on Congress at 4th. Is Matthew Perry in a SX film? Ill have to check.
