“If there’s one thing people in Austin like to do, it’s watch and celebrate live music. It only makes sense to use what we are good at to help,” said Kelsey Wilson, lead singer and violinist of Austin band, Wild Child.
Texas bands like Wild Child will be coming together for several benefit concerts over the next couple of weeks, in which ticket proceeds will go to victims of the floods in Central Texas.
Wilson, who is from Wimberley, said her whole neighborhood was destroyed in the Blanco River flood over Memorial Day weekend.
“This is a great way for those of us who aren’t contractors or carpenters to reach out and give back,” Wilson said.
She’s right, it’s not too late to help Central Texas get dried off and back on its feet, and you can do your part by doing what you do best: drinking beer and enjoying live music. So come on out, donate, and have a good time!
