Compared to the bulletins put out by SXSW’s Interactive, Music, & Film arms – news blasts so frequent they leave us fairly reeling – SXSW Comedy has only just made its first lineup announcement of the 2013 calendar year. Don’t worry: There’s plenty there worth having waited for.

Among the first names dropped: Fred Armisen, Sarah Silverman, Michael Cera, W. Kamau Bell, Jenny Slate, Matt Besser, Tim & Eric, and alt-comedy Grand Grumpus Eddie Pepitone aka the Bitter Buddha. That’s just a very, very tiny sampling of named participants. Also announced were a couple of Upright Citizens Brigade showcases, a preview of Marc Maron‘s new IFC semi-fiction series Maron, Comedy Bang Bang‘s second SXSW in a row with Scott Aukerman and Reggie Watts, and a live taping of public access darling The Chris Gethard Show.

SXSW Comedy runs March 9-16 and is open to anybody in possession of a SXSW badge or wristband. See sxsw.com to soak in the whole preliminary lineup.
