AUSTIN SCHOOL OF MUSIC has been doing its thing for nine years now, offering two weeks of intensive music training that culminates in a performance at Antone’s. ROCK ‘N’ ROLL CAMP FOR GIRLS This nonprofit feminist camp boasts an impressive roster of volunteer instructors that reads more like an indie-comp than a camp, with names like Sleater-Kinney, the Haggard, and Team Dresch. NATURAL EAR MUSIC CAMP is a great place for the kid in your family who can’t stop singing into a hairbrush or beating the pots and pans with a wooden spoon. UMLAUF SCULPTURE GARDEN takes its terrific children’s workshop a step further this summer.
