Walking down Congress, it’s easy to spot the Paramount Theatre’s sign, studded with light bulbs, prominently displaying the feature event of the day. Not only is
the Paramount Theatre an Austin landmark and entertainment venue, but come summertime it’s transformed into a film beacon that summons classic moviegoers.
The house lights dim while a large, red curtain opens across the stage. Flickering light from the movie projector splashes images of the film’s opening title sequence
onto the big screen. With popcorn and drink in hand, the perfect atmosphere is set for this theatrical experience, the way these classic films were meant to be seen.
